Janvière Tuyisenge
Janviere Tuyisenge is passionate about aquatic ecosystems. When she was working for Lake Kivu Monitoring Programme in Rwanda, she became fascinated by cage aquaculture growing around Lake Kivu, Rwanda and proposed a research project on ecological sustainability of cage aquaculture in Lake Kivu. Currently, she is working on her research at IHE Delft Institute for Water Education, Department of Water Resources and Ecosystems under the Aquatic Ecosystems Chair Group. She wants to understand the implications of cage fish farming for the limnology and biogeochemical processes in the littoral zone of Lake Kivu.
Janviere graduated from University of Rwanda-College of Education (former Kigali Institute of Education) with a degree in Biology and Chemistry with Education. She holds a joint MSc degree in Environmental Science, Specialization Limnology and Wetland Management from University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences in Austria, Egerton University in Kenya, and IHE Delft Institute for Water Education in the Netherlands.
