Deadline approaching: Erasmus Mundus MSc scholarships for European students
The deadline for scholarships to four Erasmus Mundus Master’s programmes that address water challenges, including environmental degradation, floods and droughts, is approaching. The two-year programmes start in September 2025 and involve studies at IHE Delft and institutions in other countries.
Applicants from European Union and the European Economic Area countries are eligible to apply for scholarships for all four programmes:
- International Master of Science in Environmental Technology and Engineering (IMETE)
- Coastal Hazards, Risks, Climate Change and Adaptation (COASTHazar)
- Flood Risk Management
- Groundwater and Global Change – Impact and Adaptation (GroundWatCh)
Applicants from Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Kosovo and Montenegro are eligible to apply for scholarships for the IMETE and Flood Risk Management programmes.
Scholarship deadline
Details including requirements and criteria are available on each programme website. All scholarship applications are due 3 February (23:59 CET).
The programmes, supported by the European Union through its Erasmus Mundus programme, typically involve one semester of studies at IHE Delft and a research project in collaboration with IHE Delft or another participating institution in the final semester.
The programmes
IMETE targets prospective environmental engineers and scientists. It is offered by IHE Delft in cooperation with Ghent University, Belgium and the University of Chemistry and Technology, Czech Republic.
COASTHazar students prepare for professional careers in which they help societies address and adapt to coastal hazards and associated risks. IHE Delft coordinates the programme in cooperation with the University of Algarve, Portugal, and Universidad de Cantabria, Spain.
Flood Risk Management is an integrated, multidisciplinary programme that enables students to develop the skills and knowledge they need to minimize human and socio-economic losses caused by flooding, while also considering the social, economic and ecological benefits of floods. IHE Delft leads the programme in collaboration with the Technical University of Dresden in Germany, UPC Barcelona in Spain, and the University of Ljubljana in Slovenia.
GroundWatCh students focus on groundwater hydrology, climate sciences and the use of groundwater to address global climate change through adaptation. The programme is offered by IHE Delft, the Technical University of Dresden, Germany and University of Lisbon, Portugal.
Scholarships for European students
Students from EU/EEA countries are eligible to apply for scholarships for all four programmes. Students from Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Kosovo and Montenegro are eligible to apply for scholarships for the IMETE and Flood Risk Management programmes
