Mahmoud S. Rabbani Scholarship
The Mahmoud S. Rabbani Scholarship (MSR scholarship) is intended for Arab students who have been academically admitted into a Master’s or PhD programme in the Netherlands.
If you are really considering studying water and environment, being at IHE Delft is one of the great opportunities to do so.
Candidates must be nationals of any of the following countries: Algeria, Bahrain, Egypt*, Iraq*, Jordan*, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Palestine*, Syria, Tunisia, UAE, Yemen*, or Sudan.
*If you are from a country which is also eligible for a MENA scholarship via the Water and Development Partnership Programme (Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Palestine, or Yemen) you are strongly advised to apply for both scholarships as the maximum amount of an MSR scholarship is €15,000 (whereas the total cost of the programme (fees and living) is estimated at €38,000).
Application procedure
- Get admission for the IHE Delft MSc in Water and Sustainable Development.
- Apply for the MSR scholarship by 31 March 2025 at the latest.
- Look for additional funding. All candidates from an MSR country will automatically be considered for a MENA scholarship, if they have been academically admitted ( MENA scholarship via the Water and Development Partnership Programme ). However, due to the high level of competition, we advise you to look for alternatives as well.

- Personal growth: Assessing the contribution the proposed field of study would have on the applicant’s continued academic and professional development and/or its potential for impact in the local context.
- Strong motivation in line with the ideals of the Lutfia Rabbani Foundation’s goal of promoting Euro-Arab dialogue and understanding.
