Joint Japan World Bank Graduate Scholarship

Since 1987, the Joint Japan World Bank Graduate Scholarship (JJWBGSP) has supported over 6,000 mid-career professionals from 160 countries in completing graduate degrees in development-related fields. Successful applicants to the one-year MSc in Water and Sustainable Development, who met the JJWBGSP requirements, were considered for the scholarship to fully finance their study at IHE Delft.
Growing up in Gambia, I wanted to become a medical doctor to help the community. Later on, I realized that medical doctors are focused on patients. I was interested in helping a wider community to improve their life, and so I got interested in public health, water and sanitation.
All applicants who wish to be considered for a JJ/WBGSP scholarship:
- Need to have applied for admission and be academically admitted to one of the eligible MSc programmes offered by IHE Delft.
- Should meet the JJ/WBGSP scholarship eligibility criteria. Please read the eligibility criteria carefully, to find out if you are eligible
- Be able to provide two professional recommendations from recommenders who can attest to their professional experiences at work. We experience that many applicants do not succeed in creating an eligible JJ/WBGSP application after they have been nominated, because they cannot arrange timely their recommenders. We therefore strongly advise you to contact the recommenders you have in mind in time. See also below.
- We strongly advise you to carefully review the application guidelines and the FAQ on the World Bank website.
If you meet the criteria above, please complete the application form, available at the bottom of this page, and return it to: [email protected] before 15 March 2025.
